Michael P. Pierce, a partner in the law firm of Pierce and Hughes, Media, is serving a three-year term on the Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) Board of Governors.
One of 12 zone governors who serve on the PBA Board, Pierce represents Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery county lawyers.
Active in the organized bar at both the state and local levels, Pierce has been a voting member of the PBA House of Delegates since 2013.
Pierce served as the 2017-18 president of the Conference of County Bar Leaders, which organizes a yearly educational conference focusing on the exchange of innovative bar association projects and ideas and on the development of mutually-beneficial relationships among bar leaders that improve the legal profession. Its membership includes leaders from the PBA and county bar associations throughout the state.
In addition, Pierce is a member of the PBA Family Law Section and the PBA Municipal Law Section.
At the local level, Pierce is the current president of the Delaware County Bar Foundation. He served as the 2010-11 president of the Delaware County Bar Association.
Also active in the community, Pierce serves on the Board of Directors for Saint Edmond’s Academy in Wilmington, Delaware.
Pierce previously served on the Chester Heights Borough Council for 18 years, 16 of those years as council president.
Pierce holds an undergraduate degree in international relations and Spanish and a certificate in Latin American studies from Saint Joseph’s University. He earned his juris doctorate degree from Temple University School of Law.
