The Pennsylvania Bar Association is the voice of the legal profession in Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court has designated the PBA as "the association which is most broadly representative of the members of the bar of this commonwealth."
The PBA recognizes the responsibility related to this designation when reviewing issues and taking positions on legislation.
The PBA Legislative Department works closely with legislators and their staffs in representing the views of the legal profession. Full-time PBA staff lobbyists monitor legislation, work with lawmakers on the development of new legislation and communicate the PBA’s positions on issues before the General Assembly. Staff is experienced, involved and effective.
PBA Director of Legislative Affairs Fred Cabell and his staff are frequently at the state Capitol communicating directly with legislators about issues of interest to lawyers and their clients.
