Chester County Lawyer Morton to Serve Second Year as Chair of Pennsylvania Bar Association House of Delegates

HARRISBURG (May 4, 2020) — Kim Denise “Deni” Morton will begin her second year of a two-year term as chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association House of Delegates, the association’s policymaking body, at the conclusion of the association’s May 8 House of Delegates meeting.

Morton is a partner in the firm of Morton & Kubacke Family Law LLC, West Chester.

In addition to her role in the House of Delegates, Morton is co-chair of the newly-formed PBA Legal Career Transitions Committee. She is completing a term as treasurer on the council of the PBA Solo and Small Firm Section. She is a member of the PBA Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee, Commission on Women in the Profession, Family Law Section and Quality of Life/Balance Committee.

From 2015 to 2018, she served as a zone governor on the PBA Board of Governors. Morton recently was a member of the Board of Directors for the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation, the charitable affiliate of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. 

Morton previously was a member of the PBA Non-Dues Revenues Task Force and the PBA Senior Lawyers Committee.

Morton served as the 2013 president of the Chester County Bar Association and is a past chair of the association's Family Law Section, Bench Bar Committee and Young Lawyers Division. She also served on the association's Board of Directors, Nominating Committee and Judicial Evaluation Committee.

She has written about and lectured on various family law topics for PBI (Pennsylvania Bar Institute), bar associations, Inns of Court and private organizations.

Morton is a past board member of Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania and a past board member of the Chester County SPCA.

She is the co-leader of a neighborhood bible study group.

Morton holds an undergraduate degree from West Chester University and a juris doctorate degree from Widener Law School, where she was on the Law Review and the Moot Court Honor Society.
