HARRISBURG ( May 6, 2016) - Cheryl L. Young of Maple Glen, a
shareholder in the Norristown office of Hangley Aronchick Segal, Pudlin
& Schiller, will serve a three-year term on the Pennsylvania Bar
Association Board of Governors as an at-large governor representing unit
county bar associations. Her term will begin at the conclusion of the
PBA Annual Meeting May 13 in Hershey.
A member of the PBA House of Delegates, Young previously served on
the PBA Board of Governors as an at-large governor representing the
interests of women lawyers. She is a member and past chair of the PBA
Family Law Section and served as co-chair of the PBA Membership
Committee. She is a former trustee of the Pennsylvania Bar Insurance
Fund and Trust. She is a life fellow and former director of the
Pennsylvania Bar Foundation.
Young is a past president and a past member of the board of directors
of the Montgomery Bar Association and a past chair of its Family Law
Committee and Young Lawyers Division. She is a past chair of the
Montgomery Bar Association Women in the Profession Committee. She also
served as president and as a director of the Montgomery Bar Foundation
and is a member of the Stefan and Taxis Circle.
She is a member of the American Bar Association and the Desmond J.
McTighe Inn of Court and is a member of the board of examiners of the
American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.
Young is secretary of the Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association
and treasurer of the Montgomery Child Advocacy Project. She is a past
board member of Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania and Ambler Area
YMCA and past president of the Victims Services Center of Montgomery
County.
Young is a graduate of Michigan State University and a graduate of
the Washington College of Law, American University, where she was on the
Law Review.
