Centre County Lawyer Kelly A. Mroz to Serve on PBA Board of Governors

HARRISBURG (May 8, 2019) — Kelly A. Mroz will begin a three-year term on the Pennsylvania Bar Association Board of Governors at the conclusion of the PBA Annual Meeting, May 17, in Lancaster. Mroz is director of Penn State Student Legal Services and an adjunct lecturer at Penn State in University Park.

One of 12 zone governors who serve on the PBA board, Mroz will represent Cameron, Centre, Clearfield, Clinton, Elk and Potter county lawyers who are members of the association.

Since last year, Mroz has been a voting member of the PBA House of Delegates, the policymaking body of the association. She was also a voting member of the House from 2003 to 2004 and 2006 to 2012.

She is a member of the Commission on Women in the Profession and the Legal Services to the Public Committee. She was a 2001-02 member of the PBA Bar Leadership Institute, which develops future leaders of the association.

Mroz serves on the Board of Directors for the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation, the charitable affiliate of the PBA. She is chair of the foundation’s Marketing Committee.

Also active in local bar activities, Mroz has been co-chair of the Centre County Bar Association Women’s Law Committee since 2016. In addition, she was active in the Erie County Bar Association, serving as chair of the Family Law Section in 2012, co-chair of the Family Law Section in 2005, 2006 and 2010, and chair of the Young Lawyers Division in 2002 and 2003.

From 2015 to 2018, Mroz served on the Center for Alternatives in Community Justice Board of Directors. She previously served as on the Campaign Cabinet and the Women in Action Steering Committee of the United Way of Erie and was the 2007-08 president of the Junior League of Erie.

Mroz is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University and an honors graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
